Surrounded by dramatic terraces cut into the mountain sides, famed for innovatively feeding the empire, this complex city will have you fascinated all day. Do I need to travel the Inca Trail to get to Machu Picchu?
No. Most Travelers go to Machu Picchu in the traditional way. That is, they embark on the train from Cusco to the town of Aguas Calientes (3:30 am) and spend the night in Machupicchu after hot water from the bus to Machu Picchu (30 min). The Inca Trail is indicated only for those who are in good physical condition, willing to take long walks and camp for at least three days in the mountains that are can go with Travel Agencies. In one way or another the starting point for everyone is the city of Cusco, it depends on the schedules agreed with the operators.
What is the best itinerary to get to Machu Picchu?
To get to Machu Picchu it is mandatory to arrive before to acclimatize. To get to Cusco, leaving Argentina, the fastest and safest way is to fly from Buenos Aires Lima then to Cusco, because there are no direct flights to Cusco, if they are in Brazil in the same way there are no direct international flights to Cusco, Some international agencies offer packages from their country, but do not trust them, because they are not updated on the weather and the conditions of visits to Machu Picchu so it can be difficult to get used to the Peruvian population, so ask a local operator
Can I climb to Machu Picchu walking?
Yes, it is very safe a single road that leads from the town of hot waters through the Zigzag Inca stairs, an average of two hours maximum. If you go up early take a flashlight because as there are forests some steps look dark even at that time of night, so ask your tour operator.
Can I visit Mach Picchu without a Guide?
From July 1, 2017 all visitors must hire a professional guide, at the door of Machu Picchu, or also in the town of Aguas Calientes in the tourist information office of the local government, if it is in group-to-private service, with the purpose that visitors plan the time of their visit in Machu Picchu with a maximum time of 4 hours until 12:00 pm. To allow the next group to pass late shift.
Cusco travel agents have guides in all languages, you can hire in advance since at the last hour prices range between 30 to 50 dollars per person, especially at the door of Machu Picchu.
Can I camp in Machu Picchu?
It can not. The last camp is located at the foot of the Inca trail, the place called ruins bridges, there you can rent carapas from the Ministry of Culture is 1h30 walk before reaching Machu Picchu. If you want to know only Machu Picchu you must take the train back and forth to Cusco, you will have to sleep in a hotel in the town of Aguas Calientes that is at the foot of the mountain of Machu Picchu also known as Machupicchu town, there are many hotels in different costs
Is Machu Picchu closed in the rainy season?
NO, Machu Picchu never closes. It only closes on the days when it rains a lot and there is a train cut to take tourists or there is a Natural disaster that does not allow travelers to reach by any of the roads, as happened in 2014 that closed for three months because that the railway line was razed by the river almost 15 km from Lardo, that is the risk of traveling in February. But the most normal everything works contact us
In half a day gives time to know Waynapicchu?
To visit the main temples and climb to Wayna Picchu it takes a long time, so it is now advisable to visit Machu Picchu in two days, and another day to Waynapicchu, because in a 4-hour shift it is almost not enough, so you must take Holidays with more days of stay, if you do not have time then I only recommend visiting Machu Picchu and so you will visit very quietly
Is there a visitor limit in Machu Picchu?
Yes, there are visitor limits in Machu Picchu for each day. The maximum allowed is 2500 visitors per day. For the Inca trail, only 500 travelers per day are included, including guides and porters. And to go up to Waynapicchu and have that spectacular view above Machu Picchu, only 400 people are allowed per day in both shifts, so ask your local operator in Cusco, and organize your visiting shifts.

Due to the international organization called UNESCO, the Peruvian government can not take more than three thousand people a day, so they are distributed in two shifts of 200 people to climb that famous mountain called Wayna Picchu, inside it they are located as the Inca caves , the Inca bridge, and temple of the moon, therefore it is very interesting if you have a good physical condition
Is Machu Picchu collapsing?
This is the dumbest question they asked me in my whole life, I say no, it's like saying that the earth is splitting in two, which is not true, Machu Picchu is built on the basis of a solid rock or earthquake of 20 degrees could not be disarmed or within the reach of the rivers Machu Picchu is located on a giant stone mountain, type of limestone, granite, volcanic stones, the Inca engineers chose this unique place where there is the eternal security of a political administration town , economic, administrative, military of the Incas, 100% safe with 10 ° earthquake could fall
